“Marta’s class helped me to be compassionate towards the parts of myself that are sometimes difficult to deal with. I enjoyed the atmosphere of kindness and empathy from the other artists who participated and it was inspiring to have a safe space to explore my inner artist. I learned so much in only two hours and can’t wait to learn more! ”

Marta helped me realize that some of my overwhelming experiences and initial feelings may actually be trying to help me. I actually felt the heaviness of the situation lift while at the class! The benefits increased as I practiced the tools during the week. I was able to try them out performing for this group today, and the improvement was pretty amazing.
The tools aren't mind games. They are not band-aids. They are educating me, to enjoy my mind.... the happy excited parts and the sad and anxious parts.
Not only that, but Marta presented the information clearly and compassionately. She created a welcoming and safe group atmosphere where we all felt we could share challenges with each other. Thank you Marta!! -- Laura Kimmel, mezzo-soprano
Thank you for your visit to UWM and for the beautiful workshop, "Strategies for Fear in Performance". The information was clearly communicated to the students with such warmth and positive energy, something that they all needed, especially the week of mid-term examinations. Many of our students said that it was the most insightful master class that they have attended during their time as students at the university. You have really found your niche in giving this information to hungry singers! I so appreciated the energy that you brought into the room and the way that you honored all of our students within the workshop.

“I liked being able to sing and then just stop and discuss what was going on in my head. It really calmed the voices-just having them be heard, in real time, in the moment.
My normal routine of shaming and dreading have really taken a back seat and I feel like I am hearing other singers in a more realistic light and not automatically thinking everyone is so much more advanced than I am.”
As a professional actress, a large part of my job is auditioning for upcoming projects. It’s often a very vulnerable and nerve-wracking process, but it’s necessary to sustaining a career. Over the past several years, I developed a debilitating case of stage fright, particularly when it came to auditioning for musical theatre. I was left frustrated with myself and was certain that this fear was costing me jobs. Marta worked with me to develop personalized techniques to conquer those fears and imagine a positive outcome to my auditions. I’m happy to report that after practicing these techniques, I've recently been cast in a world-premiere of a new musical at a Tony-Award-winning regional theatre. Thank you, Marta, for arming me with the tools necessary to overcome this very frustrating obstacle and open the door to new opportunities in my career!

I cannot praise Musician's Mastermind high enough. It was eye-opening, inspirational, and supportive. I have so many new tools to achieve on my own, and a new group of friends who are on the same journey as I. I cannot wait for the next session to start so I can continue this valuable work. -- Alicia Berneche, internationally acclaimed soprano, www.aliciaberneche.com
It was so good today, Marta. A great experience for the students. The combination of your calm presence, unique ideas and content, practical application exercises, and deliberate clear delivery really kept our students engaged. There were any number of concepts that they could take away from the experience. Following up after each section and getting responses from them was key to having them take away thoughts they can use in their practice time. The length of time of the workshop was just right. I will make use of the the audio version of the centering exercise with my students and for myself. Thank you again for coming! -- Scott Uddenberg, voice faculty, music director for the music theatre department , Elmhurst College
