ONLINE - Sunday, October 15th, 3 - 4:30 pm
A group class to address your fears, concerns, inhibitions, and all sorts of other things that come up around performing, auditioning, and preparation.
- Guided journaling, group discussing, and mini-coachings.
- An introduction to IFS and the 'parts' process.
If you're anything like me, you have competing desires around performance and creativity. On the one hand, you love to perform. You love the spotlight or making music or collaborating or creating. On the other hand, fears get triggered, and sometimes those fears are so overwhelming, they take control when it really counts.
This FREE class will help you identify the various desires around your creative and performing world, giving each strand of desire the attention it deserves. You can make friends with the fearful parts of you, while still honoring and following the creative and performing parts of you. All of this inner exploration leads to more inner harmony and unified purpose. Doesn't that sound nice? Sounds too good to be true? Read below for one person's experience at a recent class.
An experience with the Inner Artist class
I feel so fortunate to have had the opportunity to take Marta's Inner Artist Group class. I have been experiencing almost debilitating physical symptoms while performing certain material that I didn't agree with. I would have nausea and dizziness while performing this text for this particular group. I have " tricks" to deal with things like this so I've been able continue, but not joyfully.
Marta helped me realize that some of my overwhelming experiences and initial feelings may actually be trying to help me. I actually felt the heaviness of the situation lift while at the class! The benefits increased as I practiced the tools during the week. I was able to try them out performing for this group today, and the improvement was pretty amazing.
The tools aren't mind games. They are not band-aids. They are educating me, to enjoy my mind.... the happy excited parts and the sad and anxious parts.
Not only that, but Marta presented the information clearly and compassionately. She created a welcoming and safe group atmosphere where we all felt we could share challenges with each other. I can't recommend the class enough and I can't wait for the next one. Thank you Marta!! -- Laura Kimmel, mezzo-soprano
